Most technology advice in the United Kingdom is given by somebody who also stands to
sell you something — a licence, a platform, a team of developers, a managed service.
The advice may still be good. But you can never fully separate it from the sale sitting
behind it, and you are rarely told what the adviser earns if you say yes.
Prime Tech Technologies is registered under SIC 62020 —
information technology consultancy activities — and nothing else. We do
not hold reseller agreements. We do not take referral fees, rebates or margin from any
supplier whose product might appear in one of our reports. We do not bid for the
implementation work that follows our recommendations, and we will say so in writing at
the start of every engagement.
What that leaves is a narrow, old-fashioned service: somebody competent looks carefully
at what you have, listens to what you are trying to do, and hands you a written document
saying what they think and why. You then own that document. You can act on it, ignore
it, or hand it to three suppliers and ask them to price against it.
What we will not do
- Resell, licence or take commission on any third-party software or hardware.
- Quote for building the system we have just recommended you build.
- Issue a recommendation verbally and leave no written record of the reasoning.
- Begin chargeable work before a written scope and a fixed fee are agreed.
- Retain your credentials, systems access or data after an engagement closes.
